The kids seem to be on the mend. Tally got a rash at school last week that I can only assume was an allergic reaction to something she got into. The doctor thought it was viral, possibly fifths disease but it was gone after 2 days so that pretty much ruled it out. She has sensitive skin just like I do so I can definitely see this being a reoccurring problem. Otherwise both kids have colds that just don't seem to be going away, again... possibly allergies.
Finished this one last week. It was a nice read, really loving Mia Kings books. I have one more that I'm waiting for at the library, her newest one "Table Manners".
I am almost done with "Swimsuit" by James Patterson. Pretty good so far but the killer is very disturbing. Not a good read for someone that is sensitive to that type of stuff.
I think that is all I have for now, I might be back tonight or tomorrow to start my menu plan posting again.
I have a little bit of me time while Tally is at school and Devlin is napping. I'm slowly getting things organized around here and getting things to run a little smoother. Who knows when I'll actually get the whole house decluttered and organized but at least I'm working on it! I've also been taking my exercise seriously this week and I'm determined to make it a habit this month!!
Tally is loving school. They take afternoon naps before they come home and she's always been cranky when woke up from naps at home, apparently things have not changed just because she's in school. The teacher says she's fine all day until they wake her from her nap, we've picked her up teary eyed several days last week and once so far this week. I'm not to concerned about it since she's fine up until after the nap. The teacher will start sending behavior charts home on Friday and I'm hoping we never have any issues with this.
I have a few book sitting in front of me, none of which I've started reading. I wanted to show the books but vox books area doesn't seem to be working today so I'll just name them.
"The Pretend Wife" by Bridget Asher
"Breakfast at Stephanies" Sue Margolis
"Women of the edge of a Nervous Breakthrough" by Isabel Sharpe
"Death by Chick Lit" by Lynn Harris
Now for a little bit of scrappy goodness that is way over due to be posted.
First goodies from Gina Cabrera at Digital Design Essentials. Let 'Em Eat Cake Mega Kit on the first one and Wheels On The Bus Mega Kit for the second page!
And now a few Peppermint Creative goodies. Daditude Kit (which is free right now) and the Funky Free-The Whole Shebang
A few of my favorite pictures of the kids from this week!
Tally is doing great. Getting ready for school to start next month.
I went to my doctor the week before last and am still waiting for my test results. I'm not expecting them to be great but I'm hoping they are at least decent. Will post when I get them.
Saturday - Papa Murphy's at my parents again
Sunday - Chinese Take Out
Monday - Shredded Beef Tacos
Tuesday - Indonesian Crock Pot Chicken
Wednesday - Matt and the kids had pizza and he picked me up some lemon pepper wings at Wingstop
Thursday - Tonight will be breakfast night most likely
I'm thinking about starting a pizza night if I can figure out to make a healthy carb friendly crust that everyone will eat otherwise I'll just work on a really thin white crust or even do something seperate for me with my Flatout bread.
I'm off to finally get my shower before Devlin wakes up from his nap, then I need to make my grocery list, oh fun times.
Hope everyone has a great week!
I can't believe my baby girl is officially 4! She's growing up way to fast, who told her she could do that?!? ;) Unfortunately she is dealing with a stomach virus since yesterday, we had to make a run to the doctors this morning for meds to stop the vomiting. Poor girl is finally a little active after napping on the couch most of yesterday afternoon and today. I didn't make her cupcakes since she can't eat them until tomorrow night if she keeps her bland food and liquids down until then. She did open her gifts. Here is my birthday girl in a sweater and hat her Nana made for her. This is the best smile we could get out of her since she isn't feeling well.
Cheddar, Broccoli, and Mushroom Quiche (Diabetic Cooking Jan/Feb 2009 issue) plus Pumped Up Muffins
Barley Beef Stroganoff (Diabetic Cooking Jan/Feb 2009 issue)
Easy Chicken, Spinach and Wild Rice Soup (again the Jan/Feb 2009 issue)
Chipotle Pork Soft Tacos (Page 144 of Robin Millers "Robin to the Rescue")
We ate out on Friday night, My dad made Chicken and Dumplings on Saturday (Family) night and we will have breakfast one night like usual (It really is a frugal meal to throw together homemade whole grain pancakes, eggs and turkey bacon).

My baby girl is turning 4 on Tuesday. I can't believe it's that time again already. We picked up some cupcakes at Kupcakz on Saturday to have with my parents but of course I can't not make something for her on Tuesday also so I decided to make Devils Food Cake Cupcakes with Strawberry Buttercream Frosting and a strawberry fanned on top. Really hoping the frosting turns out yummy since the last one I attempted didn't. lol Present wise we went to Build A Bear on Saturday and she picked out a Hello Kitty to make and my mom bought her a Barbie Laptop. She picked out presents last week while Grandpa Mike and Grandma Karen were in town. She is getting a new doll (it's what she asked for) and clothes from us and another package is in route from Nana. No party but I figured this will be the last year I can really get away with a cheap birthday before we have to start inviting friends and putting some thought into her birthday. lol
One of her presents from Grandma Karen last week was a responsibility chart. We are giving her 10 cents per magnet and right now she has 5 things to do a day, we are giving her another 10 cents if she completes a full week. 2 are definite, Brush Teeth and Get Ready For Bed. We also have No Whining, Be Nice and Pick Up Toys. She can make up to $4 a week but it looks like it will be running in the $2 mark if she continues like last week. Looking at this now it seems like a lot of money for a 4 yr old. lol This can go towards toys she's wanting and sweets (only 1 on grocery day or I'm sure she would fill a basket with candy and cookies).
Saw this on my friends Suzannes blog....

We saw the PA at the Dermatologist office. She quickly looked her over and told us it was very possible that it is an allergic reaction to bugs bites and the blisters looked a lot like poison ivy or a contact reaction to something. At this point I don't care what it is as long as the new meds work. She is on a different corticosteroid cream and now a liquid oral steroid too to go along with her prescribed antihistamine. I was told to give the new stuff a few days to get in her system and during this time it might still spread but towards the end of the week if it's still spreading or getting worse to call her back other wise call in a week to let her know how it's going. Of course now my mind wants to play tricks on me that I'm itching, so here I am scratching. lol
One quickie post on Halloween costumes. Matt's step mom Karen made Tally's Belle costume and we received it last week but got the accessories over the weekend. Here she is...
We have an appointment at 3pm with a Dermatologist to figure out what this mess is. Her Pediatrician is thinking that it may be a few things now that the blisters have shown up, we'll see and hopefully have a better answer after this next appt. I'll be back later today!
Comparison from Friday and Today.
I'll keep you posted...
