The day got a little better....at least it didn't get worse. Nothing special happened yesterday afternoon. I made these but with strawberry preserves because that is what I had on hand. They were very good. Dinner was whatever... we all had something different. Tonight I'm making the bourbon chicken. Looking for some yummy recipes for this next week and have a few in mind already thanks to the foodie blogs I read.
Matt is picking up my other package at the post office soon. I am so glad my replacement package is being sent UPS! One thing coming in todays package is a new Weight Watchers cookbook. I'm really hoping that it has some yummy take out like recipes in it!
I'm not on weight watchers right now but I am trying to watch what I eat. What I really need to do is find time to exercise which is hard with a clingy baby. Here is my potd for yesterday, I love watching Devlin now that he is getting more interactive. He's really starting to play with his toys and it's so freaking adorable!
Again I'm sitting here eating my yogurt snack and posting. Matt got home before noon today so we went out shopping. Originally we went to Target to look for craft tables and clearanced Shutterfly album codes, they had neither. So while we are looking for the tables, we are near the vacuum cleaners and I see a dyson out of the package and I'm checking it out. Matt says there is no way we are spending that much on a vacuum cleaner BUT we really could use a new one...so we picked up this baby. Let me just say..It's awesome! I don't usually get excited about cleaning stuff but I do get excited when something picks up the dog hair completely! I also made the mistake of letting Matt pick up a video game that I had to watch him play all night (wth was I thinking?!?)
Here is my POTD, just took this before I started posting of Devlin sleeping on the couch.
and a page I made with Miss Mints products and the January sketch from Karah Fredricks blog
I made the Orange Crusted Baked Chicken tonight, Matt let me fall asleep on the couch and by the time I woke up it was to late to start the roast. It was pretty good and you could definitely taste the orange. This is from the Weight Watchers New Complete Cookbook. This is also my picture of the day!
Orange-Crusted Baked Chicken
(4 Servings)
2 tbsps orange juice
2 tbsps dijon mustard
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 c whole wheat cracker crumbs
1 tbsp grated orange zest
1 shallot, finely chopped
1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper
4 (3 oz) skinless boneless chicken thighs
Preheat oven to 350F; spray a nonstick baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray. In a small bowl, combine the orange juice, mustard, and salt. On a sheet of wax paper, combine the cracker crumbs, orange zest, shallot and pepper. Brush the chicken on both sides with the mustard mixture, then dredge in the crumbs, firmly pressing the crumbs to coat both sides. Place the chicken on the baking sheet. Bake 15 minutes; turn over and bake until cooked through, 15-20 minutes longer.

Check out that picture taken with the VTech Kidizoom (these cameras are really crappy but I guess you can't expect much for cameras made for young kids) Love the picture I took last night of Matt and the kids.
I can't believe I forgot to take a picture yesterday. It's only the 9th day of the year and I already messed up. lol Well I did take a picture on Tally's kidizoom VTech camera yesterday of her and I do need to upload her pictures so maybe that can count towards my Project 365 pic. lol Just need to find that usb cord! Matt took our 24-70 lens in to be looked at cause it isn't focusing well. So I hope to see that back semi soon even though I prefer the 50 and unfortunately he is starting to like it too.
Ok I found the cord to my camera and hooked it up to hers...vox won't accept the picture...it's jpg what the heck?!? lol
I think I'm going to change Meal Planning day to Friday since that is really when I do it. I've been looking at my fav foodie blogs and my cookbooks to find what I want to make this next week and have a few ideas already. Tonight is still my Philly Cheese Chicken Sandwiches going to start on those as soon as Matt and Tally get back. I need some ideas for lunch... for me not the kiddo. Tally is fine with her pb&j's or mac-n-cheese! Today I had a sweet potato with light butter spread and brown sugar. Pretty much cause I didn't have anything else that sounded good. lol
I'm going to continue to try and save that picture and get it up on here and think about what todays pic will be. Be back laterzzz!
Have to make this quick because it's time for bed and I'm getting a look from the hubby!
First up is todays POTD, my little man.
It was a pretty uneventful weekend. The kids and I went out to lunch and shopping with my mom Saturday and home with her for family night where Matt met us a little later. My dad is back to work after taking off the whole month of December and first few days of January, Tally wasn't to happy about him not being there when we got to the house. His overtime is back into effect with the new year so he'll be working 7 days a week again. Matt and I have decided that we are going to start going out once a month for couple time and leave the kids with my parents, I'll have to pick Devlin up afterwards for a few months until I get him used to sleeping alone....who knows when that will happen (he sleeps so well next to me every night). Sunday was our lazy day here at the house. Ended up being my headache day again...like Tuesday when I had one that didn't seem to go away with drugs...so again it didn't want to go away with drugs either. Matt ended up going and getting Chinese takeout since I wasn't really up to cooking.
Now for the POTD's from the weekend. Tally and PaPa on Saturday pointing at the camera and on Sunday, Daddy and Tally reading the newspaper (and yes my daughter is wearing the same shirt...she fell asleep in it and we didn't change her out of it until her bath last night...remember I said lazy day...lol).
A lot of running around today. Grocery store this morning then a quick stop by McD's for a happy meal for the kiddo and sweet tea plus fruit and walnut salad for me. When Matt got home we went out to JCPenneys to pick up some shirts for me and then to Home Depot so Matt could get a T Square thingy (LOL), look at new front and back doors. I got to pick up some under the bed storage containers for the kids clothes that they have grown out. Going to put some into the Just Between Friends sale in the spring, make a little money to put towards their spring/summer wardrobe.
Guess that is all for tonight. Think I'm going to try and get some scrapping done with some new goodies I got this morning...January DDE Idea Notebook, Em's Deal of the Month and Janet's Jan XL Grab Bag!
